Brodie really doesn’t need much introduction around New Zealand – as she’s well known as the nation’s millennial bestie. An award winning journalist and presenter with projects like hosting top podcasts
The Girls Interrupted and Kiwi Yarns , author, MC, public speaker and brand ambassador to name but a few of her roles – she is also a Board member of and passionate Ambassador for Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust.
A brilliant storyteller, Brodie is incredibly passionate about engaging with people all around New Zealand – and we’re especially delighted she is telling the story about our incredible work here at ADNZT!
It was a chance meeting at a shopping mall that was Brodie’s first introduction to the wonderful world that Assistance Dogs create around them. Being a dog-lover from way back – she was drawn to our dogs on duty with their humans collecting money at our annual fundraising campaign some years back. So impressed was she when she heard about the work they do - Brodie became a donor in her personal capacity – which then led to her choosing Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust as her chosen charity when she took part in Dancing with the Stars in 2022. We were dancing too, so happy were we to get that amazing exposure and for more people to know about us.
At the time she said she was determined to do her best for our organisation – saying “I’ve worked with these guys for a while now and they’re incredible”. “I’ve seen children who were too scared and stressed to leave the house suddenly able to go to the movies or the shops with the support of a dog. It’s life-changing for them and their families”
She adores our dogs – and adores the fact that these “special good boys and good girls “make such a difference for the families that become their partners.
In her spare time Brodie loves to run slightly uncomfortable long distances (we're talking marathons and ultramarathons), has a real passion for gin and has been single for approximately 923 years. Who needs a partner when there are cute doggos to pat though? When she has downtime she loves to lie on the beach like a seal, and has a real passion for travel and dog-watching.
